A Note from our Founder, Amy:
I started my career in Michelin starred Restaurants, and was fortunate enough to receive Silver Service, Mixology,
Whisky and WSET training prior to joining Yachting. I had always loved hospitality, and worked at some World Class
establishments such as The Kitchin in Edinburgh and El Bulli in Spain whilst studying languages and history at University
in Scotland.
Upon discovering the Yachting industry and deciding to try my luck as Stewardess, I was grateful every day for the prior
luxury hospitality experience I had gained. I felt like I was maybe one step ahead...but I was brought down to earth
pretty quickly...
Starting my career as Junior Housekeeper on board a 100m Yacht, I was trained by true industry professionals and
given the foundations in housekeeping at the highest level to eventually progress to Chief Stewardess, eventually
rejoining the same vessel as Chief Stew some 8 years later. I've been fortunate enough to complete two large New Build
projects for the same Owner throughout my career, worked on both Charter and Private and completed multiple
extensive refit projects.
"I've seen many mistakes made in this industry; and made many of them myself.
Life in Yachting can be hard; the hours are long, the work can sometimes feel
thankless and the competition for progression can feel, at times, demoralising.
It's also a bloody fantastic career path that will lead you to so many incredible
experiences."
